The Beginning

It was the day where 2 years effort is going to get resulted.

More than 6 months after the exams has this day arrived. Whatever was the reason, elections or permitting new colleges… those were the last days as a boy. Parents knew how we performed and they are the one mostly tensed with what happens next. Every day was spent roaming on roads and every night looking at the sky. All my boyish school friends also knew we will get departed and things change a lot. Perhaps what we do from now should carry an essence and should look meaningful.

I think that was why we never found the sky boring all those days. Each day, it was saying us that there is much beyond what you can think and imagine. It was new every day and we used to look for our favorite star. At times, hours were spent in silence looking at the sky and stars. I donno if we were looking for UFOs or some clues of the life ahead. My friend used to say that there was a ‘divine saucer’ which, if seen, freezes our life there. I always prayed that doesn’t pass in sky while I am staring at it. And a day arrived when I prayed to see it and freeze my life in happiness…

That was the end of progress reports, PET(Physical Education Training) classes, uniform, prayer, pledge (and none forgets the “India is my Country” in life), ranks in class, eagerness to be the class leader, compulsion to speak in English, geography, biology, hindi, the heavy school bags and most of all, the chance to do mistakes and making up as innocent child.

Now we choose the way to different professions, places, friends and a whole together different life. We were students till then and from tomorrow we say future engineers, doctors, accountants, auditors, lawyers etc. Many will be leaving the place where they knew every street, the place where they were famous for their mischief, the place of friends.

Now after hard work of 2 years, each day with the insistence of parents to work more harder than done we are awaiting the result. We don’t know where and how again we will meet each other and even if we could recognize each other after we meet. Things were moving so fast in front of the eyes and suddenly I heard my name announced.

It’s my turn to enter the counseling hall. 2 years effort on EAMCET is now ready with a surprise for me. 8059 is my rank and I was eyeing on a college with only 2 seats left in the branch I was looking for. I have eagerly filled the sheet with my preferences, SVNE, CSIT and KSRM, EEE. Few minutes later I collected my joining order. It said
